Who remembers those school days wearing foundation on your lips to create that nude lip look? (Probably best forgotten, right?)
It has taken me a long time to find an amazing nude lipstick – ever since school I have been like Goldilocks trying to find one that isn’t too pink, isn’t too pale and isn’t too glossy or matte. (For a LOL you can check out this very old post where my friend Corin and I were convinced that the Barry M nude lipstick 101 was the one. It wasn’t).
But the search might finally be coming to an end now that I have discovered the beautiful Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colour Balm in Amaretto Swirl.
This Creamy Colour Balm is designed to ‘provide the comfort of a lip balm, the coverage of a lipstick and the shine of a gloss’, enriched with vitamins and butters to smooth and plump the lips.
I love how comfortable it is to wear. It feels so soft and creamy on the lips, plus as it is a balm/lipstick hybrid, it means it is much easier and fool-proof to apply than a traditional lipstick.
The colour pay off is amazing and just as good as a normal lipstick, delivering a slick, not-too-glossy burst of creamy brown-nude colour. And though there will inevitably be some rubbing off when eating or drinking, this does last me from morning until lunchtime easily.
I am obsessed with this nude lipstick and am so happy that I’ve found a contender for my wedding makeup next year!
