Have you ever heard of Osea Island? Neither had I, until I had the chance to attend Island Record’s annual Island Life private summer party which was held on Osea Island last week.
The pretty island is not far from Essex but can only be driven to when the tide is out for a few hours each day. Dubbed ‘the English Hamptons’, it holds an assortment of upscale holiday rentals overlooking the water which can be rented out for events, private parties and weddings.
The particular party that I was attending was the Island Life summer party, held by music label Island Records. I was there with new beauty brand Buxom which has recently arrived in the UK from the states and I helped to host a group of YouTubers – our honorary ‘Buxom Babes’ – throughout the festival and overnight.
Most of the day was spent relaxing by the pool, eating delicious food from the likes of Bob’s Lobster and Patty and Bun (although we did have to queue for a long time for the privilege) and exploring the pretty island. From 7pm we had the chance to watch some recently signed musicians perform outdoors as we ate dinner on the warm grass (I am now in love with an Irish singer called Sigrid) before shaking our ting to Sean Paul live.
We stayed overnight in a selection of yurts and bell tents, all complete with plugs. The nearby toilet and shower facilities were super clean and modern which I was very grateful for after so much sweaty dancing to Sean Paul…
Then it was time to say goodbye to these beautiful views to head back into London. See ya Osea!
