When Benefit bring a boat decked out with pink interiors, cocktails and beauty treatments to the shores of the Thames, it seems silly not to visit.
So one muggy London weekday, my friends Rach, Jen and I decided to head to the Good Ship Benefit for cocktails and catch ups.
Docked up next to Embankment tube station, Good Ship Benefit has a beauty parlour, an inside restaurant and a deck space which offers unobstructed views across to the London eye…
We turned up around 6pm on a Wednesday with no booking and were seated on the decking immediately by super friendly staff. The boat was half-filled, mostly with groups of women (and one elderly couple tucking into some fish & chips), and we caught up on our lives over the chart music playing from an outside speaker.
For health and money reasons, we each decided to opt for the ‘Gabbi’s Garden’ Mocktail, a refreshing sparkling drink infused with elderflower, cucumber, mint, lemon and soda. I was quite pleased we went for a non-alcoholic drink as I could feel the waves underneath us, especially when tour boats would zoom past us and make the waves lurch, which wasn’t a completely pleasant experience.
Nonetheless, the Good Ship Benefit was a fun spot for drinks with a difference and I would recommend popping down for girly gatherings whilst is in London this summer. They often run events and themed nights too, so make sure to check the website for what’s on.
