My Two Nude Lip Favourites from the bareMinerals Gen Nude Collection

If you have ever struggled to find the perfect nude lip before, you may just find something here…

Gen Nude bareMinerals

This Jan & Feb, bareMinerals UK are launching a new 40-strong ‘Gen  Nude’ nude lip collection made up of varying lipsticks, lipglosses, lipliners and for their first time ever, matte liquid lipsticks.

I was so excited when I heard this was launching as I love a nude lipstick! I find nudes to be way less maintenance than a bright, bold colour, however it can be really hard to find a shade that doesn’t make you look washed out or have the dreaded zombie lips. (One of my recent favourites was the Laura Mercier Lip Parfait in Amaretto Swirl – full review here).

To make the Gen Nude collection a little less overwhelming, the shades are categorised into 4 different undertone categories, including Beige, Pink, Peach and Mauve. Different undertones suit different skin tones, meaning you should be able to choose the right nude for your complexion without looking washed out (counter staff can advise). When in doubt though, apparently a mauve undertone flatters most skin colours!

Case in point, one of my favourite nudes from the collection is the beautifully mauve undertoned Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Swag:

It’s a lovely soft mauve-raspberry colour that is so creamy to apply, easy to wear and lasts such a long time! I think this is a great shade for autumn/winter, especially as the formula is also slightly moisturising and doesn’t give me the flaky lips that I always seem to get in cold weather!

My second favourite item from the collection is the Under Over Lip Liner in Borderline which is the lightest of the 5 Gen Nude lipliners but is basically a slightly peachier, more matte version of Swag above. It tends to be my daytime go-to colour as it has a lovely matte finish that stays put pretty much all day, is also really easy to apply and just has a slightly softer, natural finish – like my lips but better.

Gen Nude is available now in main department stores, bareMinerals boutiques and and prices range between £14-£17. Let me know if you have any other good nude lip recommendations!

I love nude lipsticks! The BareMinerals ones definitely appear to be softer and buttery on the lips compared to others I’ve seen! Loved the review and the packaging is to die for! xo

Totally, these are some of the least-drying formulas that I’ve tried! x

Totally agree that nudes are easier to manage, but hard to find shades that don’t make you look dehydrated lol! All of these shades look so lovely. A nude lovers dream!

Yes absolutely, for a shade that should be quite easy to wear it’s not easy to find a good one! xx
